BIMA beat out fierce competition to take home the title of Insurance Company / Initiative of the year at the highly respected African Business Awards. The award recognizes the impact that BIMA has had upon the insurance landscape in Africa, from pioneering the disruptive mobile-delivered insurance model to innovations in product and distribution that have opened up access to vital services on a scale never seen before.
Receiving the award in New York, Katerina Kyrilli, Business Development Manager for Africa, commented, “We are extremely proud to be honoured by this organisation, alongside so many other great African businesses. This award is a celebration of the success BIMA has had so far in Africa and an endorsement of our approach. There remains huge potential for insurance in Africa and we’ve only just begun to unlock it”.
