Global Reinsurance and StrategicRISK magazine named BIMA the winner of the Best Training & Education Initiative at the 2016 MEA Insurance & Risk awards. This title recognises BIMA for building the world’s largest force of dedicated microinsurance agents who have successfully brought the power of insurance to 24 million subscribers who have never had access to insurance before.
The Judging panel recognised that BIMA’s training program is the key to the success of its agent force, which is central to its business model.
The judges gave particular praise to BIMA for creating career opportunities for low-income people in the insurance industry. BIMA’s takes people from the same communities as their customers and trains them to become experts in a range of insurance functions from sales through to claims management and even product design.
