April 2014, London: Bima has been nominated for the FT/IFC Transformational Business Award for achievement in ITC. The award recognises businesses that have had a transformational impact in terms of innovation, impact, replicability and commercial viability on a transactional basis.
The award for Achievement in Information and Communications Technology particularly recognises ground-breaking initiatives that harness the power of ICT to address basic needs at the Base of the Pyramid (BOP) — the more than 4 billion people with income below $8 per day in purchasing power parity or who lack access to basic goods, services, livelihoods and income-generating opportunities — and have the potential to transform communities and their aspirations in the long term.
Bima is thrilled to be shortlisted for the award alongside other fantastic initiatives, such as MicroClinic Technologies/Angelica Medical Supplies/ KEMSA , PharmaSecure, Roshan Afghanistan and Santander Brasil.
The FT/IFC Transformational Business Conference and Awards will take place on the 12th of June 2014.
