Purchase Personal Accident Cover worth up to TSH 3,000,000 TSH 


BIMA, the leading provider of mobile- elierved insurance in emerging markets, has launch a new product in partnership with Tigo Pesa, Tanzania. Togo Pesa customers will now be able to purchase BIMA Personal Accident Insurance for as little as 2,000 TSH, using their Tigo Pesa wallet.


The launch of ‘Farijika na Tigo Bima’ represents a new way for Tigo customers to access valuable insurance, with all the security and control that comes when paying through a Tigo Pesa account.


Farijika na Tigo Bima is the latest development from the long-standing partnership between Tigo and with  BIMA (known locally as MILVIK) , the global leader in mobile-delivered insurance. Together the companies already provide vital insurance cover to over 600, 000 Tanzanians.


Farijika na Tigo Bima has been designed to give customers maximum value, flexibility and control when purchasing insurance cover. There is a standard premium rate for all customers (aged between 18-65) and a straightforward choice from three different levels of coverage:

 2 months cover for 2,000 TSH

 6 months cover for 5,000 TSH

 13 months cover for 10,000 TSH


Enrollment onto the product is incredibly easy, with no paper forms or checks required – customers can simply dial the hotline from their mobile phones, and register on the spot. Once covered, Tigo Bima’s Personal Accident Insurance will provide up to TSH 3,000,000 in cover. BIMA operates a fair and transparent claims process, and promises to pay all valid claims within 72 hours of filing.
