The judging criteria looked for innovative, sustainable, scalable and impactful strategies that increase access to individuals who have not had access to such programs, products and services historically.
BIMA was the clear winner proving scale and viability of its model while demonstrating real impact for consumers at the bottom-of-the-pyramid. At the time of submission, BIMA had brought insurance to 18 million people in Asia, over 90% of whom are accessing these services for the first time.
