Management Associate — 6-Month Intensive Apprenticeship
Singapore | 100% In-Person | 5 Positions.
BIMA is looking for exceptionally bright, high-energy people at the beginning of their professional journey who think differently, learn fast and want responsibility much earlier than a conventional career normally offers.
This is a hands-on management apprenticeship working across BIMA leadership, CXOs and operating teams — not a conventional graduate programme or 9-to-5 role.
WHO CAN APPLY
- Any undergraduate discipline is welcome. Strong Year 12/13 (or equivalent) academic performance will be valued.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, PMP or equivalent routes are welcome, particularly if completed within the last 3 years. An undergraduate degree is not essential for an appropriate professional or non-traditional route.
- Current MBA/Master’s students may apply, but this is not a post-Master’s programme. Anyone joining through this route must have independently decided to leave before completing that degree.
- Rural, small-town and unconventional educational backgrounds are strongly encouraged. Candidates without higher education may be considered with at least Year/Grade 9 equivalent plus approximately 3 years of meaningful work, business, entrepreneurial or frontline experience.
- Frontline talent — including insurance agents, sales, customer service and field roles — is particularly welcome. We care about what you can demonstrate, not only certificates.
ASIAN EXPOSURE
Meaningful educational, cultural or living exposure across South, Southeast or East Asia is particularly valuable. Exposure to smaller and emerging Asian markets is especially valued.
Strong English plus Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Urdu, Vietnamese, Burmese, Bahasa Indonesia/Melayu, Bengali/Bangla or another relevant Asian language is an advantage.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Almost everything.
Sales, marketing, strategy, finance, accounting, operations, research, AI, presentations, data, customers and new-market projects — plus basic tasks such as photocopying, arranging meetings or booking dinner when required.
You may support or, where appropriate, represent a CXO.
No work is too senior. No work is too junior.
20% IS YOURS
Around 20% of your time will be dedicated to an idea you want to pursue that could benefit BIMA directly or indirectly.
Research it, test it, defend it with evidence and try to build it. If it works, you may get the opportunity to take it further.
100% IN-PERSON
These are 100% on-site positions because of intensive rotations, cross-functional interaction, hands-on training and direct exposure to management and operating teams.
There is no regular work-from-home or remote-working arrangement. Any flexible-work request will be considered in accordance with applicable Singapore requirements.
SINGAPORE ELIGIBILITY & FAIR PROCESS
Applicants must already be legally able to work in Singapore without BIMA sponsoring a new work visa. BIMA cannot sponsor new visas for these positions.
Apply only through the stated process. Do not lobby directors, CXOs, employees, shareholders, recruiters or connections to influence an application. Attempts to bypass the process may lead to disqualification.
Who you know should not determine the opportunity.
GLOBAL MOBILITY
Be ready for possible deployment to another BIMA market after the first 6 months in Singapore. Candidates interested in Asia or Africa — particularly an African-market assignment — should say so.
Overseas permanent roles are normally on local-market/local-currency terms with applicable BIMA group benefits, not an expatriate package. Your eventual role may be in Singapore or another BIMA market, subject to business needs and mutually agreed terms.
THE OPPORTUNITY
5 positions | 6 months
Compensation will be determined individually based on experience and background.
Completion does not guarantee a permanent job. Exceptional associates may receive a full-time offer.
We want raw intelligence, energy, curiosity, resilience, independent thinking and willingness to do what needs to be done.
You may come from a leading university, a rural town, a professional qualification, an unconventional path or a frontline job. What matters is whether you can think, learn, execute and lead.
THE PURPOSE OF THE SIX MONTHS IS SIMPLE: SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO.
